# Creating Kits

### What this allows you to do

Group a collection of different components that are installed in the same step, while controlling the specific order in which each part’s animation plays.

### When to Use Kits

Use kits when:

* Multiple different parts are installed together in a single step
* The installation has a **specific sequence** (e.g., bolt → washer → nut)
* You want to condense several related installs into one instruction
* You need animation ordering to reflect the true install flow

In the workflow, kits can be created either before or after sequencing depending on author preference.

### What Kits Do

Kits allow you to:

* Combine **non-identical components** into a single logical install group
* Play animations **sequentially, in the order components are selected**
* Reduce step count while preserving accuracy
* Accurately depict multi-part fastener operations and torque patterns

Kits keep instructions organized without losing the procedural flow operators must follow.

### Creating Kits

* Multi-select components in the 3D viewer or part tree
* Right-click and choose **Create Kit**
* Animation order follows the selection order

### Editing Kits

* Add/remove/reorder components as needed using the part tree
* Visual and step behavior updates immediately in Instruction View

### Key Tips

* Use kits when **order matters**
* Use clusters when **components are identical and all added at the same time**
* Be intentional with selection order to ensure correct animation flow
