# Dashboard

This will cover all the actions you can perform on the dashboard

## Project Library

The Dashboard is where you can view the projects you and your team have in BuildOS. You will only see projects you uploaded or which you have been granted [share access](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/how-to-be-successful-in-buildos/concepts/sharing-and-ownership). These are grouped in the following categories:

* Recent: Projects you have recently opened.
* My Projects: Your uploaded projects.
* Drafts: Projects started but not [submitted for review](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/how-to-be-successful-in-buildos/concepts/instruction-lifecycle).
* Review: Projects [submitted for review](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/how-to-be-successful-in-buildos/concepts/instruction-lifecycle) by other team members.
* Approved: Projects whose latest instruction revision is [approved](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/how-to-be-successful-in-buildos/concepts/instruction-lifecycle).
* Team Projects: Projects [owned](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/how-to-be-successful-in-buildos/concepts/sharing-and-ownership#project-ownership) by other team members which have been shared with you.

You can open a project by clicking on it.

## Create a new project

To upload a new project, select the "New Project" button.

\
On the New Project menu, you can provide the following:

* The CAD file you wish to upload.
* The title for the project.
* Initial Ordering option chosen:
  * Selecting "Original" will use the order already contained in your upload
  * Selecting "Recommended" will use BuildOS's recommended assembly order on upload
    * This will not create new phantoms or subassemblies, and will optimize the order of your existing hierarchy.
  * Whichever option you select, you will be able to use BuildOS's [ordering](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/how-to-be-successful-in-buildos/concepts/ordering#automation-tools) suggestions from within the project.

If you experience issues during upload, refer to our [troubleshooting documentation](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/how-to-be-successful-in-buildos/tips/how-to-export-your-cad-model#issues-uploading-to-buildos).

## Manage requirements

Individual libraries for Tools, Standard Notes, and Media are managed from the Dashboard. To view a library, select it from the left navigation.

### Adding a requirement

To add a requirement, select the "Add" button in the top right

<figure><img src="https://2740836029-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FuT4VlrqtSgrz4OSV9Xp4%2Fuploads%2FASHvQaW6svCaXK0EWjRw%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=95f8705a-5c15-47c4-b49b-fc24bafa6a88" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Here you can specify the title, description, and image (if applicable) for the item you wish to create.

Completing this will add the item to your library, and you can immediately [add it to steps](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/how-to-be-successful-in-buildos/concepts/requirements) in any of your team's projects.

### Editing requirements

If you wish to edit or delete an item in a library, you can select it and make the desired changes. Making modifications will update your existing in-progress projects, and approved or in-review projects will remain unchanged.

You can also delete an item if you wish. Similarly to editing, any approved or in-review projects will remain unchanged.
