# Section Views

## Overview

Section views allow you to cut through your assembly to reveal internal components, fasteners, and details that would otherwise not be visible from the outside. This is essential for documenting complex assemblies with internal features.

Examples include:

* Internal part placement
* Hidden fastener locations
* Component alignment details
* Interior phantoms and subassemblies

### Sectioning Controls

Once enabled, use the sectioning panel (shown on the left in the image above) to control your section:

#### Plane Selection

Click any of the three plane buttons to align your section:

* **X plane** - Cuts perpendicular to the X axis
* **Y plane** - Cuts perpendicular to the Y axis
* **Z plane** - Cuts perpendicular to the Z axis

#### Positioning the Plane

Use the **"Reverse plane"** slider to move the section plane through your assembly:

* Drag the slider left/right to change the cutting position
* Parts on one side of the plane remain visible
* Parts on the other side are hidden

#### Adding Multiple Planes

Click **"+ Add plane"** to create additional section planes for complex views.

#### Removing Sections

* Click the **"Clear All"** button to remove all section planes
* Or click the **X** next to individual planes to remove them one at a time
