# Model and Instructions

## Overview

There are two main views for crafting instructions. Both views use the same data and share some functionality, and each is optimized for different purposes:

### Both Views

Both Model view and Instructions view show the assembly tree, and in both you can:

* [Reorder](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/user-guide/project-open/manipulate-hierarchy#reorder)
* [Create and modify phantoms, clusters, kits, and combinations](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/user-guide/project-open/manipulate-hierarchy#create-phantoms-and-groups)
* [Add instruction steps](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/user-guide/project-open/manipulate-hierarchy#add-instruction-steps)
* [Rename elements of your project](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/user-guide/project-open/manipulate-hierarchy#renaming-items)
* [Search through your project's items](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/user-guide/project-open/filtering)
* [Review and approve your instructions](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/user-guide/review-and-approve)
* [Export your instructions](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/user-guide/review-and-export)
* [View revision history](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/user-guide/revision-history)
* [Edit share access to your project](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/user-guide/share-access)

### Model View

<figure><img src="https://2740836029-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FuT4VlrqtSgrz4OSV9Xp4%2Fuploads%2FeOuoLyHhBQB1jVtaxOeb%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=3fee154c-4d8a-4dd1-8bf5-3862e1c0ba5e" alt=""><figcaption><p>Model view</p></figcaption></figure>

* This is where you can see your entire CAD model, and easily make hierarchy changes.
* Model view has access to the Bill of materials tab, which can be used to filter the 3D viewer by common parts.
* Here you can hide and highlight parts to aid in parsing through your uploaded model to make changes.

### Instructions View

<figure><img src="https://2740836029-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FuT4VlrqtSgrz4OSV9Xp4%2Fuploads%2FDlVtVLeQtf3dbFTUM0Dv%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=8038c21e-0843-4dcb-8dad-6a3e3ff4f1f0" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* This is where you see the step-by-step instructions you are creating.
* Here you can modify the visuals shown for each step, such as the [camera angle](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/user-guide/project-open/edit-canvas-visuals/edit-perspective), [animations](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/user-guide/project-open/edit-canvas-visuals/edit-animations), and [annotations](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/user-guide/project-open/edit-canvas-visuals/add-annotations).
* You can also take screenshots in Instructions view, and download and/or add them to your assembly steps.
* You can also [preview and accept BuildOS's recommended assembly order](https://dirac-inc.gitbook.io/dirac/user-guide/project-open/manipulate-hierarchy#previewing-and-accepting).
