# Kit Coloring

## Overview

Kit coloring automatically assigns different colors to each part in a [kit](/how-to-be-successful-in-buildos/concepts/steps.md#kit-step), making it easier to follow multi-part assembly sequences.

### How to Use

#### Enable Auto Coloring

1. Select your **kit node** in the assembly tree
2. In the right panel animation section, find **Coloring**
3. Select **Auto**

Done. Colors apply automatically.

#### Customize Colors (Optional)

1. Select your kit node
2. Toggle to **Custom** mode
3. Click each child part
4. Pick your color
